Summary

In this chapter, we looked at some of the basic concepts governing an n-tier application and possible architectural options for solving a complex enterprise problem. We also covered what WebLogic Server, as a J2EE-compliant application server, provides for solving the various problems software architects face in the age of the Internet economy. We covered one of the most common design techniques used in J2EE applications: UML. Finally, we covered some of the effective methodologies for designing an effective J2EE solution.
