Chapter 38. Administration via the Command-Line Interface

by Joseph McGuire and Gurpreet Singh Bhasin

IN THIS CHAPTER

In addition to the browser-based Administration Console, WebLogic Server also provides a command-line interface for WebLogic administration. The command-line interface is a good alternative for those who want to use command scripts, do not have access to a Web browser, or just prefer the command-line interface to the graphical user interface. In this chapter, we list the commands and discuss some examples of using them. We also list best practices for using commands and how they can help in administering WebLogic Server. We hope the examples in this chapter help you appreciate the power and ease of using the command-line interface for controlling WebLogic Server.

The material in this chapter guides the reader towards making use of the powerful command line commands that Weblogic Server 8.1 provides.
