Summary

Before JavaScript was introduced, a Web page was limited in its ability to create and communicate to other windows. With the introduction of JavaScript, Web pages had access to built-in functions that would allow a programmer to create, modify and communicate to other windows. This ability allowed the programmer to show a visitor more data, aid a visitor in filling out forms, and to create more efficient Web pages.
