Using Country-Specific Google Sites

Displaying Google's main interface in another language is fine, but if you live in another country you probably have a country-specific version of Google that you can use, instead.

Google has dedicated sites for 138 different countries. For example, Figure 13.9 shows Google's South Korea site; Figure 13.10 shows the U.K. Google site; and Figure 13.11 shows the Israel Google site.

The advantage of using a country-specific Google site is you have the option, right on the home page, of restricting your search to pages located in that country. The URLs for each of Google's country-specific sites are listed in Appendix A, "Google's Site Directory," and can also be found on Google's Language Tools page.
